It would seem as if the cast of one of Marvel’s newest endeavors, Ant-Man is starting to shape up. Variety is reporting this morning that actress Evangeline Lilly is in talks to play the female lead in the film.

Those of you who do not recognize Lilly from the television series Lost will certainly remember her in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug where she played an elf by the name of Tauriel.

Now, for those of you who are not quite familiar with the premise of the film, here is a quick look at the synopsis of Ant-Man courtesy of IMDB.com.

Biochemist Dr. Hank Pym uses his latest discovery, a group of subatomic particles, to create a size-altering formula. Though his first self-test goes awry, he develops an instrument that helps him communicate with and control insects.”

The film has already cast not one, but two actors to play the role of Ant-Man. Award winning actor Michael Douglas has been cast as Hank Pym. Anchorman’s Paul Rudd has been cast as Scott Lang, the second person to use the name Ant-Man in the Marvel Universe.

There are not a whole lot of details right now when it comes to storyline, so it is unclear as to who exactly Lilly may be playing; however, the rumors would have it that she will be set to play a love interest to Scott Lang. There is also a rumor that they may be using her as a daughter to Hank Pym.

However, as the film is still in the early stages of pre-production. Things can change at any point, and at this stage, they usually do.

The script is being written by Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish. Wright will be directing the film as well.

Ant-Man is scheduled to be released on July 15, 2015.
