College basketball poll: Can Wichita State finish the regular season undefeated?


On Wednesday night, the Wichita State Shockers fought through their toughest test of the season and came away winners against the Indiana State Sycamores. The win pushed their overall record on the 2013-14 regular season to 24-0 and 11-0 in the Missouri Valley Conference.

With seven games left in the regular season, it’s now time–especially after the victory over Indiana State–to ponder the option of one of last year’s Final Four teams going undefeated in this year’s regular season.

Of those seven teams that the Shockers face, only two have winning records, and just barely. They’ll all be return match ups, and quite frankly, not many of the original games were even that close. Four out of them, though, are on the road, which just slightly opens up the possibility for an upset.

Still, though, as we enter the second week of February and the Shockers not having lost a game yet, the talk of this team being undefeated going into the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament in March is absolutely warranted.
