The Brooklyn Nets are paying point guard Deron Williams nearly $100 million to come off their bench, but the team is winning and that’s what the plan will continue to be until the winning stops and turns back into woeful losing.
But even if the team starts to lose again, prompting a switch in the starting lineup, Williams might not be around to fill in. In Brooklyn’s Thursday night game against the San Antonio Spurs, Williams appeared to have hurt his ankle taking a shot.
It’s unclear how injured Williams is or if he’ll be out for an extended period of time. Even though he was coming off the bench, he was valuable to the Nets and losing him for any period of time is not what the team wants to deal with at the moment.
