Francisco Rodriguez to sign with Brewers

Milwaukee has made reunited with a bullpen piece from the past.

Chris Cotillo has tweeted out that the Brewers have re-signed Francisco Rodriguez on a one-year major league deal. The news comes after Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reported that the two sides were in talks earlier today.

Rodriguez, or ‘K-Rod,’ pitched for three seasons in the Milwaukee season, compiling a 7-8 record with a 3.15 record before being traded to Baltimore for minor leaguer Nick Delmonico. K-Rod, 32, posted an outstanding 10.4 K/9 and a 3.86 K/BB ratio, although that ratio was 5.60 once he joined the Orioles.

The deal is for $3.25 million with an additional $550,000 in incentives, and Rodriguez would figure to be either in the setup or closer role along with Jim Henderson.
