The New York Knicks may or may not be a week away from firing head coach Mike Woodson. They may also be a week away from possibly trading forward Metta World Peace.

The eccentric MWP, also known as Ron Artest, has struggled with the Knicks this season and has reportedly grown tired of his inconsistent playing time. And while he won’t come out and request a trade (at least not yet), he apparently wouldn’t be opposed to a deal if one was to happen.

After spending his career wanting to be traded to the Knicks, the defensive forward, who has been in and out of the rotation since December, now wouldn’t mind being traded from the Knicks.

“He didn’t sign up for this,” another person close to him said.

World Peace, for what it’s worth, said that he doesn’t deal with any of that stuff and leaves it all up to his agent.

MWP has a player option for $1.6 million dollars next season, so salary shouldn’t be a hindrance to trading the veteran small forward if that’s the route the Knicks choose to go with.
