NBA Rumors: Ray Allen says he plans on playing next season, won't retire

The Miami Heat may see their roster get decimated this offseason, as Chris Bosh sounds like he wants to test free agency and LeBron James is widely believed to be opting out of his current contract to hit the market as well. There’s one major member of the team outside the Big 3 willing to stick around and that’s Ray Allen.

He may not return to the Heat unless at least LeBron James does, but Ray Allen says he’s not ready to hang it up and retire just yet.

Per Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel:

“At this point, I love how my body feels,” Allen said. “It’s 18 years for me. I love what I’ve done and how I’ve continued to feel.”

This is good news for fans who have enjoyed watching Allen’s career take him everywhere from Seattle to Boston and Miami. He’s likely to add a fourth team to that list if he leaves the Heat, but we know that Allen will be playing somewhere in 2014-15 and the NBA is a more entertaining game for it.
