NBA Trade Rumors: Orlando Magic in 'listening mode'

The Orlando Magic have one of the youngest rosters in the NBA. Of course, with youth come the struggle to win and the Magic are currently one of the worst teams in the league – at least statistically.

Despite that, they’re in no rush to make a move come the NBA’s upcoming trade deadline as they’re reportedly in ‘listening mode’ right now, this according to Sam Amick.

The Magic are in what’s called listening mode, and it’s a safe bet that most of what they’re hearing is offers for shooting guard Arron Afflalo.

The Magic have a handful of potential assets they could move which include Jameer Nelson (essentially an expiring contract), Glen Davis and the already mentioned Afflalo.

Of note, Amick does make mention that Orlando would likely be looking for a proven player if they were to trade Afflalo rather than a draft pick, something that may make a deal easier considering so many teams are wanting to hang onto their picks with the stocked 2014 NBA Draft upcoming.

Should be an interesting few weeks.

Trade the 2014 orlando first rounder for kyrie irving. Irving is a future star in this league and is already an all-star starter in his third season. Its unlikely anyone in this draft class will live up to what Irving is doing right now. Also, Irving is on the cavs, he can not live up to his potential on a team like that. With a core of irving, oladipo, and Vucevic the magic have a bright future.
