Just a few days before they were set to take the ice for the 2014 Winter Olymics in Sochi, the Swedish men’s hockey team learned that they would be without Marcus Johansson. However, don’t be too concerned, because Sweden wasted no time naming a replacement.
Late Thursday night, the nation announced that Washington Capitals center Marcus Johansson would be replacing the former NHL MVP and Vancouver Canucks star in the Sochi Games.
Sedin was forced out of action with a rib injury.
Johansson is a very capable and effective replacement, who will be looking to build on his numbers this season as he takes the biggest stage in the world.
