The American League West Champion Oakland Athletics made a few bold roster moves this year that left some people scratching their heads. But do not fear Athletics’ fans, your general manager knows exactly what he’s doing.
Billy Beane has made a lot of wonderful roster moves ever since he arrived in Oakland. A huge move over the last couple of years was signing right handed slugger Yoenis Cespedes. The Chicago Cubs were right on their heels when it came to wanting his services, but Beane and company were able to beat out the rest of the competition and lock him up.
According to John Hickey on Twitter, Cespedes would like to work out an extension to remain with the franchise beyond 2015.
LF Yoenis Cespedes said he’d like to have an extension with #Athletics when current four-year deal is up after the 2015 season.

Locking up Cespedes is a no brainer for the Oakland Athetlics. He’s the guy that you want to continue to build your team around, hopefully reaching and winning the World Series. This kid has a bright future ahead of him and will help keep the American League West in Oakland’s back pocket.
