Jessica Eye denies failing UFC 166 drug test because of marijuana

This developing story just keeps getting stranger. This all began days before UFC 169 when The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) overturned Jessica Eye’s UFC 166 win over Sarah Kaufman to a ‘no decision’ four months after the fact. At first the TDLR did not disclose why they overturned the victory, but a week later revealed that Eye had failed a post fight drug test.

To make the story even stranger, Eye would still be allowed to compete at UFC 170 due to the TDLR giving her a ‘probationary suspension’, which basically means a slap on the wrist. Initial speculation was that Eye had failed due to blood thinners, but earlier today, BloodyElbow ran a story saying Eye had failed due to marijuana. If Eye was to fail due to marijuana, she should have been handed down a regular 9 month to a year suspension by the commission.

Eye took to Twitter to vehemently deny the accusations:

She went so far as to attack the author of the article:

FanSided reached out to Eye for comment, but are still awaiting word. Eye is still scheduled to face Alexis Davis at UFC 170, but there is evidently still a lot to clear up about UFC 166 and the post fight drug test.
