The Baltimore Orioles have been linked to just about every big name free agent on the market. So it shouldn’t come as a shock that they are now being rumored to have interest in Ervin Santana.
The veteran pitcher, who allegedly was asking for a $100 million dollar contract earlier this offseason has reportedly dropped his asking price ‘significantly’ and could be a target for the Orioles who are looking to add another arm to their rotation.
#Orioles “kicking the tires” on Ervin Santana
It’s not known how much Santana has dropped his asking price, so that’s likely why the Orioles are just ‘kicking the tires’ of the former Kansas City Royals pitcher.
Baltimore has been looking to add a starter all offseason and seemingly (at least at one point) felt they’d be in serious contention to add A.J. Burnett. That ship has appeared to sail though, thus the ‘new found’ interset in Santana.
The 31-year-old pitcher reportedly has interest from a handful of other teams including the Toronto Blue Jays and Colorado Rockies.
