Randolph, who owns a $16.5 million dollar player option for the 2014-15 season has yet to give any indication if he’ll exercise it or not. That leaves the Grizzlies in a bit of a pickle considering the veteran power forward could opt to leave Memphis at season end and the Grizzlies come away with nothing.
Despite that, they apparently have no interest in moving Randolph.
Forward and possible free agent-to-be Zach Randolph has yet to say whether he plans to opt out this summer but has made it widely known that he wants to return. In turn, it appears the Grizzlies have no plans of trading him.
It’s pretty hard to think Randolph will opt-out of his deal considering he’d be leaving $16.5 million dollars of guaranteed money on the table. That said, if he feels he can secure a multiyear deal (be it with the Grizzlies or another team), he may look into doing so.
