An Arizona State student spit on two of Oregon’s basketball coaches following the Sun Devils 74-72 win over the Ducks on Saturday.
According to Oregon Live, the incident occurred as the Ducks were walking to the locker room after their comeback attempt fell short. Assistant coach Brian Fish, one of the two staff members who was spit on (the other being trainer Clay Jamieson), said he wasn’t interested in pressing any charges:
Say what you want to us but don’t spit on us.
I didn’t want any charges, just for him to be scared (witless). We all deserve second chances, he’s a college kid. But that was completely uncalled for.
Fish also said he believes the spitter was aiming for Oregon’s Joseph Young, who torched the Sun Devils for 29 points in the second half to help eliminate a 20-pount halftime deficit.
Assuming the ASU student received a stern warning, I fully expect(orate) him to be on his best behavior next game.
