The Olympics join the Streak for the Cash fray today along with a host of college basketball picks, some EPL soccer, and the last NHL games before the teams take their Olympic hiatus. The NBA also have a few games thrown in giving us a jam-packed Saturday with over 40 picks on the board to choose from.

Every morning, you can find my picks for the day here on Fansided with a quick rundown of each game as well as my confidence in my pick on a scale of 1-10. You are also welcome to join our Fansided group which is open to the public and free to join by clicking here of by searching for “Fansided” in the Group Directory page.  Here’s my picks for today and my results so far this month:

2/8 Streak Picks

7:45- Arsenal win or draw: Arsenal leads the EPL with a 17-4-3 record, but they get the draw as they travel to Liverpool.  Liverpool will be looking to avenge their loss at Arsenal earlier this year 2-0.  The last time Arsenal lost was 10 games ago back on December 14th while Liverpool played to a draw in their last match against West Brom a week ago.  Going into Anfield is always hard where Liverpool has only one loss in their last 18 games, but getting the draw Arsenal is a good way to start the day. Confidence-5

Dec 29, 2013; Toronto, Ontario, CAN; The Canadian Olympic women

8:00- Canada wins by 10+: The Canadians dominate this event especially in the early rounds. They’re favored by 9.5, so this prop is right on. In their last two head-to-head matchups, Canada won 12-0 and 13-0.  I’ll give the goals, but it’s always tough giving this many goals since the Canadians don’t have incentive to win by that many. Confidence-4

12:00- Florida wins by 15+ Points: The Gators host Alabama and are favored by 14 1/2 at home where they are undefeated on the season. They should be able to take care of the Crimson Tide who they beat by six in Tuscaloosa as part of Alabama’s five losses in their last six games. ‘Bama has lost their last three road games big by 19 at Mizzou, 19 at Auburn, and seven at Arkanasa. Confidence-5

12:00- Notre Dame Fighting Irish: UNC is as unpredictable as any team in college hoops and are officially listed as a pick ‘em as they travel to South Bend. The Heels have won four in a row, but have lost three of four on the road in the ACC and might get caught looking ahead to their big game against Duke this week. Confidence-4 1/2

12:30- Swansea City Win: The Swans host Cardiff City in their first game under interim head coach Gary Monk. Swansea has only won one of their last ten EPL games but they still sit above Cardiff in the standings and will be out to avenge their loss against their rivals.  I think they’ll be fired up enough to get the win here, but it’s hard to pick a team in such poor form. Confidence-3

1:00- Northwestern Wildcats: The Wildcats are favored by 2 1/2 as they take on the Cornhuskers. Northwestern has won four of their last five to move to 5-5 in conference play while Nebraska is just 3-6 and hasn’t won a road game in conference play yet this season. Confidence-6

1:00- Georgetown Hoyas: The Hoyas are favored by six at home as they take on Butler. They’ve been impressive in their last two games beating Michigan State and then crushing DePaul on the road.  Butler is 2-8 in Big East play and comes in having lost three of four overall and four of their last five on the road. Confidence-7

1:00- Wright State Raiders: Wright State are favored by one as they host Cleveland State in this Horizon League game. The Raiders won by three at Cleveland State earlier this season, so I’ll take them to sweep the series at home this afternoon. Confidence-4

1:00- Philadelphia Flyers: The Flyers have been picking up some nice wins headed into the break beating the Kings, Sharks, and Avs in their last three games all by multiple goals.  Calgary has won six of their last seven, but did lose 4-1 to Phily earlier this season. I’ll take the Flyers at home in this one. Confidence-5

1:30- Texas Longhorns: Even though they’re ranked, the Longhorns are four point underdogs on the road at the Octagon of Doom. I’d avoid this pick if possible. Confidence-3

2:00- North Carolina State: The Miami Hurricanes are 4 1/2 point favorites at home against the Wolfpack, but NC State has won three of their last four while Miami. Confidence-4

2:00- Iowa Hawkeyes: The Marquee mid-afternoon game is #10 Michigan taking on #17 Iowa.  Michigan won their earlier meeting by eight, but Iowa is a five-point favorite at home in what should be a great game. Confidence-3 1/2

Feb 5, 2014; Tallahassee, FL, USA; Florida State Seminoles guard Aaron Thomas (25) smiles as he pumps his fist after a game against the Virginia Tech Hokies at the Donald L. Tucker Center. 3:00- Florida State Seminoles: The ‘Noles travel to Maryland to take on the Terps as 3 1/2 point road underdogs. Maryland dropped their most recent game to UNC while FSU beat Virginia Tech to snap a three-game losing streak. The reason I think FSU wins this one is the beating they gave Maryland when the met earlier this season beating the Terps by 24. Confidence-4 1/2

3:00- Tennessee wins by 15+: The Vols are 14-point favorites at home against South Carolina.  Tennessee’s last two wins have both been by over 15 although in their most recent game they lost to Vanderbilt. SC is 1-8 in SEC play and two of those losses came by large margins. Confidence-4

4:00- Any Other Result: While I do think Kansas gets the win at home to move to 9-1 in Big 12 play, West Virginia is no pushover and has been playing well winning four of five with the only loss in that stretch by six to a good Oklahoma State team.  In their last three games they’ve beaten Baylor, K-State, and Oklahoma, so I think they’ll keep this one to around 10 points. Confidence-4 1/2

4:00- Vanderbilt Commodores: The Commodores are two-point underdogs at home as they host the Razorbacks. Vandy has won their last four, though, and has a better conference record, so I think they’re the pick here. Confidence-5

5:00- Saint Louis Billikens: St. Louis is ranked #13 as a result of their 21-2 start. They come into this game against La Salle 8-0 in A-10 play and as four point favorites. Confidence-6

5:00- Oregon Ducks: Oregon looked good in their loss to Arizona just a few days ago and now travels across the state to take on Arizona State as three point underdogs. I think the Ducks have an upset in them, but the Sun Devils have been playing well too, so I’d stay away from this Pac-12 game. Confidence-3

Feb 4, 2014; Durham, NC, USA; Duke Blue Devils forward Jabari Parker (1) dunks against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Mark Dolejs-USA TODAY Sports

6:00- Duke wins by Double Digits: The Blue Devils are favored by 10 1/2 as they travel to BC.  Duke has won six of their last seven with their only loss coming in overtime at Syracuse.  At the same time, BC has dropped five of six even though most have been close games. Confidence-5

6:00- Carolina Hurricanes: Carolina is playing well at home and is coming off a win last night moving them to 14-11-5 at home having on four of their last five at the PNC Arena.  Montreal has won their last two but have dropped three of four on the road. Confidence-4

6:00- Toronto Maple Leafs: Toronto hosts the struggling Canucks who have dropped six in a row and 15 of their last 19. Toronto has been trending the other way winning three of four and 10 of 13. Confidence-6

6:05- Boise State Broncos: Boise almost knocked off San Diego State but are two-point underdogs against Utah State. USU has dropped five of six including a four-point loss in Boise, and I think the Broncos will beat the Aggies again in this one. Confidence-3 1/2
