Lance Stephenson is much better at basketball than most of us can every hope to be. He’s not on the elite level that LeBron James or Kevin Durant are on, but he’s playing his way into a much larger role and a much fatter contract this offseason.
We saw some of Stephenson’s ability on Sunday night when the Indiana Pacers were taking on the Orlando Magic. After watching tete Paul George throw down a raucously harsh slam dunk, Stephenson got in on the action himself with not a slam dunk but an incredible play that drew a foul and somehow scored a bucket as well.
That’s just the way Stephenson plays, and while he’d like to remain in Indiana through next season, wherever he plays he’s going to be a menace to the rest of the teams in the NBA.
