The former Cleveland Indians pitcher did reportedly drop his asking price a while back – but it hasn’t dropped enough, this according to the Boston Globe who says Jimenez’s asking price is still too high for teams to seriously considering bidding on him.
There’s still the feeling that Jimenez’s price hasn’t dropped enough to warrant a team jumping in hard, especially with the draft compensation attached.
Multiple teams have expressed interest in Jimenez, but are looking for a far lower figure than Jimenez is requesting.
It was reported on Saturday that the Baltimore Orioles were ‘kicking the tires’ on the veteran arm. In addition, fellow American League East foes the New York Yankees and Toronto Blue Jays are potential landing spots for the one-time Colorado Rockies ace.
The Cleveland Indians, Jimenez’s most recent squad, said they have moved on from a potential reunion.
