The NBA trade dealing is approaching rapidly and one team that could be very active are the Cleveland Cavaliers. After firing GM Chris Grant, the team may decide to trade some big pieces in an effort to right the ship, and Anderson Varejao seems to be their most tradable asset.
According to Lange Greene from Basketball Insiders, Varejao isn’t the flashiest name on the Cavs roster but he may be their most tradable.
One of the Cavaliers’ most attractive assets come trade time will be veteran center Anderson Varejao. The 31-year-old is on the books this season for $9 million and his $9.7 million salary in 2015 is only guaranteed for $4 million.
Greene states that the Lakers, Suns and Rockets could all have Varejao on their radar at the deadline. While Dion waiters and Loul Deng are attractive names, Varejao may be the one player we see moved at the deadline, although it’s entirely possible the Cavs make multiple moves to try and fix things Chris Grant broke.
