Another day, another college football coach has left for the NFL. On Sunday morning, it was announced that Nevada Wolf Pack defensive coordinator Scottie Hazelton has left the team to take a place on the Jacksonville Jaguars staff as an assistant coach.
“Scottie Hazelton has decided to leave the Nevada football program in order to pursue an opportunity with the Jacksonville Jaguars,” Nevada head coach Brian Polian said in a statement. “I know that it was not an easy decision for Scottie and his wife, Brooke, but the opportunity to be with one of his mentors in Coach Bradley and work in the NFL pulled him away.
“We appreciate all of the work that he has done here over the last year and we wish both him and his family nothing but the best moving forward. The search for a new defensive coordinator has already begun and we will have the right person in place shortly.”
The exact position for Hazelton on the Jaguars staff has yet to be confirmed.
