Pep Guardiola praises Bayern Munich's composure

Bayern Munich are cruising through the Bundesliga schedule on a 45-game unbeaten streak and currently one of the favorites in the UEFA Champions League tournament. Still they faced a tough Nurnberg team on Saturday, and their ability to adjust to the field conditions earned the squad the praise of their manager Pep Guardiola.

“It was hard to play on this pitch,” Guardiola said, via Sky Sports. “It was particularly difficult for our short passing game, which is why we played more long ball to our super aerial players like (Mario) Mandzukic.

“Our attitude was incredible.”

The Munich captain also praised his team and their ability to overcome sloppy field conditions.

“It wasn’t easy for us and we struggled to get into the game,” Philipp Lahm said.

“The pitch wasn’t excellent, but that shouldn’t be an excuse. We emerged better in the second half.”
