Sochi Olympics: You will be charged money for placing items on spare hotel bed

I don’t know about you, but in my experience, when I’ve rented a hotel room, I’ve been given use of the entire room.

Sometimes the rooms came with two beds – but that was my bed to use, if I so inclined. If I wanted to sleep in one bed one night and sleep in the other the following, I could and there was no issue with that. But apparently, that’s not how it goes in Sochi.

Via The Big Lead, it appears guests of a Sochi hotel are given a note when they check-in letting them know that if they use the second bed – even as much as placing your suitcase or other items on the bed – you will be charged for it.

If you’ve seen pictures from Sochi, you’ve probably noticed the hotels the media are staying at aren’t exactly the most spacious things (or the most sanitary/safe judging by other photos). Yes, there are some exceptions to the rule but it’s relatively cramped quarters. I’d imagine it’s even worse considering you can’t put any of your stuff on the spare bed.
