Today doesn’t have the volume of picks on Streak for the Cash that yesterday featured with a lighter Sunday schedule.  There are still plenty of options to get some green, though, spread throughout the day from early this morning with some more Olympic hockey all the way through plenty of pro and college hopes today.  For variety there are a few soccer matches mixed in from the EPL and Primera Division.

Each morning, you can find my picks for the day here on Fansided with a quick rundown of each game as well as my confidence in my pick on a scale of 1-10. You are also welcome to join the discussion in our community as part of our Fansided group which is open to the public and free to join by clicking here of by searching for “Fansided” in the Group Directory page on ESPN.  Here are my picks for this Sunday and my results so far this month:

2/9 Streak Picks

8:00- Russia wins by 3+ Goals: Never has a three-goal spread in hockey looked so small after Canada gave nine to Switzerland in yesterday’s Olympic opener.  In this one, the Russian women take on Germany who has dropped five in row including a three goal loss to the Swiss.  Even though Canada failed to cover, I’ll give the goals again this morning and go with the home nation. Confidence-3

11:00- Manchester United wins by 2+ Goals: Man U has been struggling but they host Fulham who is currently at the very bottom of the EPL table.  The Red Devils have won three of their last four EPL home matches by multiple goals while Fulham has lost their last four League matches all by more than a goal. Confidence-7

1:00- Michigan State Spartans: The Spartans are getting the streak picks, but they’re actually a three-point road underdog as they travel to Wisconsin. The Badgers have lost five of their last seven since starting 16-0 and have dropped all three of their most recent home games to Big 10 opponents.  Having the Spartans come to town isn’t a recipe for getting things turned around since they currently sit atop the conference standings with a 9-1 record.  Tom Izzo’s team is also 6-0 in true road games this season, so they’ll be ready for the hostile environment. Confidence-5

1:02- Connecticut winds by 20+ Points: UConn always seems to win big at home, so even though they’re playing Louisville who is the fourth ranked team in the country I would give the points. Confidence-4

1:05- Thunder win by Double Digits: OKC is 22-3 at home as they host the Knicks who are just 8-13 away from Madison Square Garden.  The Thunder beat the Knicks by 29 in the Garden on Christmas Day, so expect them to roll at home. Confidence-6

2:00- Houston Cougars: The Cougars are 2 1/2 point favorites as they host Temple who are just 1-8 in conference play.  Temple did put up a fight against SMU in their last game, but Houston will be desperate for a win of their own having lost their last five.  Neither of these teams are playing well, so I’d go with the home team only if there wasn’t any other option. Confidence-3

3:00- Any Other Result: Unlike Man U, Barca will be on the road giving a goal as they take on Sevilla. In their last 11 matches Sevilla hasn’t lost by multiple goals and played Barca tight in their 3-2 loss in Barcelona earlier this season.  Picking against Barcelona is always tough, but they haven’t been great on the road lately and will also be missing both Jordi Alba and Javier Mascherano which makes Sevilla with a goal the pick. Confidence-4

Feb 4, 2014; Phoenix, AZ, USA; Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah (13) talks with teammates guard Tony Snell (20), forward Taj Gibson (22) and guard D.J. Augustin (14) on the court against the Phoenix Suns in the first half at US Airways Center. Mandatory Credit: Jennifer Stewart-USA TODAY Sports

3:40- Chicago Bulls: The Bulls visit LA as the Lakers go for their third straight win.  Their last two have come over the Cavs and Sixers, so the Bulls would be by far the best team they’ve beaten if they get the win here.  Chicago is coming off a tough loss at Goldet State and is 1-3 in their last four which have all been on the road.  That being said, the Bulls are still the pick here since the Lakers have dropped 10 of their last 12 at home and just don’t have the healthy players to keep up with Chicago. Confidence-5 1/2

4:00- Massachusetts: UMass is  a four-point road favorite as they look to avoid their fourth straight road loss. They did get a win over  LaSalle in their most recent game but still have lost three of their last five.  URI has been struggling as well and is just 2-6 in conference play.  I’ll roll with the Minutemen, but I’m no overly confident given their recent road woes. Confidence-4

4:02- Baylor wins by Double Digits: Baylor beat Oklahoma State by just three points the last time these two women’s basketball teams met in Stillwater.  Other than that game and back-to-back losses earlier in the season to UConn and KU, Baylor has dominated everyone winning 17 of their 19 victories by double-digits.  Their only home loss this season came to UConn and no one else has been close. Confidence-5

4:15- Penn State Nittany Lions: The Illini are three-point road dogs as they head to Penn State looking for their first win  since January 4 when they beat this same PSU team by 20 in Illinois.  Penn State will look to avenge that loss and pick up their fourth win in five games.  Based on the fact that they’re at home and are in better form, they’re the pick here. Confidence-5 1/2

6:00- Bowling Green Falcons: The Falcons are home ‘dogs giving two points to visiting Akron. Bowling Green pleyed well in their last game hanging right with Toledo on the road while Akron won by just four over EMU at home after losing the previous game to Kent State. It’s a bit of a “gut call,” but I’m taking the upset in this one. Confidence-3

6:05- Any Other Result: The top-ranked Orange are 13 1/2 point favorites at home, but Clemson is playing well and Syracuse has been playing close games lately not winning by 15 or more since blowing out UNC back on January 11.  Clemson has gone 6-3 in conference play andhave won their last two over Florida State and Georgia Tech.  While I wouldn’t pick them to go into the Carrier Dome and end the Orange’s unbeaten start, I do think they’ll keep it within 15. Confidence-5

6:05- Connecticut winning Margin: UConn’s mens team is favored by 6 1/2 over Central Florida who have lost seven in a row starting with a 23 point loss to the Huskies in Storrs on January 11. Confidence-7

7:00- Creighton Bluejays: Creighton heads to St. Johns where they are favored by 2 1/2.  The Bluejays have won their last four including a three-point home win over the Johnnies.  Since this one will be at Madison Square Garden, it’ll be a tough test for Creighton, but I think they’ll rise to the occasion and get the win. Confidence-6

7:06- 13 Points or More: Senior forward Doug McDermott is averaging 25.3 points on the season, but he has been under that average his last three games.  Last time he faced St. John’s, however, he lit them up for a season-high 39 points proving they don’t have anyone who can guard him.  He should be in for another big night. Confidence-5

8:05- Washington 3-Pointers made or tie: Colorado is favored by 6 as they host the Huskies who are looking to avoid their third straight road loss.  Washington started this trip losing to Wazzu by 5, and then lost to Utah by 9 in their most recent game.  Now they’ll face a Buffaloes team that has a good overall record at home, but has had a loss and two close calls in their four most recent games at the Coors Event Center. Colorado lost to UCLA back in mid-January at home and barely edged Utah in overtime and Washington State in their last two games. I’m not sure who wins this Pac-12 conference game, but I do think it will be close so I’ll take the points and the Huskies. Confidence-4

8:06- 70 Points or Fewer: Neither team plays at a particularly breakneck pace and both average just over 70 points a game. Most of their higher numbers came earlier in the season and conference games tend to be a bit lower scoring.  Usually these over/under numbers are shockingly close to being right on, but I’d lean towards the under here. Confidence-3

9:10- Colorado Makes first FT of 2nd Half: This is a quick prop to get you back in the green if you drop an earlier pick, but it could easily go either way.  Colorado is the better team especially at home, so I’ll take them in this coin-flip, jump start pick. Confidence-2
