Wandy Rodriguez and the Pittsburgh Pirates will be looking to reach the playoffs for the second straight year. Last year was an exciting year for the Pirates organization and their fans as they were able to record a winning season and crack the post season.
They finished with a 94-68 record, which was good enough for second place in the division. Rodriguez and company were able to get by the Cincinnati Reds in the Wild Card playoff, finding themselves in a match up against the St. Louis Cardinals.
2013 was their first 90 plus win season since they won 96 games back in 1992. Now with the team preparing for team workouts, left handed veteran Wandy Rodriguez says he will be ready to go on the very first day of Spring Training according to Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
Rodriguez was limited to just 12 starts last year and was shut down in September because of arthritis in his elbow. He posted a 3.59 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and struck out 46 batters through 62 2/3 innings of work.
