The Dallas Mavericks got a win on the road over the Boston Celtics and a gutsy performance from Monta Ellis who is dealing with a hamstring injury. Ellis played 28 minutes and scored 11 points and had five rebounds, two assists and two steals. That performance earned the praise of the Mavericks’ superstar and leader Dirk Nowitzki.

“He’s a warrior,” Nowitzki said, via the Dallas Morning News. ”He wanted to be out there and help us get this win.”

Ellis still was clearly less than 100 percent even if he won’t admit it.

“I’m good, I wasn’t thinking about it,” Ellis said of the injury. “No pain. I told y’all. This is a minor injury. It might sound weird to most people, but to me, if I can walk, I can play.”
