Giants Steve Tisch supportive of Michael Sam

New York Giants co-owner Steve Tisch has spoken in support of University of Missouri defensive end Michael Sam, after the SEC Defensive Player of the Year announced on Sunday that he is gay.

Tisch is quoted by TMZ as saying:

“Michael Sam is a gifted athlete and a courageous man. I hope any NFL team would not hesitate to draft Michael if he is right for their team.”

What this statement does give the Giants front office is an out that if they don’t want to draft Sam, then they can say he isn’t the right fit for their team.

Lets hope that is the only reason a team wouldn’t draft Sam.
