By now you have more than likely heard that Jessica Eye failed a post-fight drug test following her UFC 166 victory over Sarah Kaufman. Days prior to UFC 169, the The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) announced that they would be changing Eye’s victory to a ‘no decision’ without giving a reason.
The lack of explanation led to a flooding of speculation from every angle. At first it was reported that Eye failed the post fight test due to blood thinners she is prescribed for issues dating back to when she was a teenager and struck by a drunk driver. Then came BloodyElbow’s story that Eye failed the test due to Marijuana, and not blood thinners. The story was criticized by many because the source was unnamed, but the author stood by his sources.
The marijuana accusation was corroborated by the fact that blood thinners do not show up in a urine sample. The only test Eye could have failed due to blood thinners is a blood test, which were not administered by the TDLR for UFC 166.
Today, Fox Sports revealed TDLR documents signed by Eye herself, that explicated exactly what Eye failed the post fight test for. As BloodyElbow initially reported, Eye did in fact fail due cannabinoids in her system. Cannabinoids is an essential component of Marijuana or Cannabis.

As of now, Eye is still set to face Alexis Davis at UFC 170 in two weeks.
