It was just under a month ago when we first told you about Lady Sif coming to Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Now, thanks to TV Guide, we have the first image of Lady Sif on set and some details as to why she is on Earth, or Midgard as Asgardians refer to it.
As you know by now, Jaimie Alexander, who has portrayed the warrior goddess in both Thor and Thor: The Dark World will be bringing the character to the small screen in an episode of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Lady Sif will be brought in on episode 15 of the series entitled “Yes Men” which is currently set to air on March 11th.
S.H.I.E.L.D. Executive Producer Jed Whedon told TV Guide that they are always looking for ways to tie the series into the Marvel Cinematic Universe and this was the perfect way to do just that.
“We always have our radar up for ways to tie our series into the Marvel films and bringing in an Asgardian really cements that connection,” Whedon said. “Lady Sif comes here on a hunting mission — sent by Odin — to find her arch-enemy Lorelei and bring her back to Asgard. It throws our agents for a loop when they find themselves in a fight right alongside this powerful woman from Thor’s world.”
Lorelei, who in the comics has been linked to such characters as Loki and Pluto, will be portrayed in S.H.I.E.L.D. by Magic City’s Elena Satine.
It will be interesting to see exactly what it is that has brought Lorelei to Midgard, and how the S.H.I.E.L.D. team reacts to having to combat with a real Asgardian. Well, at least one slightly more formidable than Professor Elliot Randolph.
Here is a look at Jaimie Alexander as Lady Sif in the upcoming 15th episode of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns with new episodes on Tuesday, March 4th at 8:00 p.m. on ABC.
