After a disappointing end to their 2014 recruiting class, the UCLA Bruins earned a big commitment for the class of 2015 on Monday when 4-star athlete Jaason Lewis committed to the Bruins.
“I felt most comfortable there,” Lewis told Ryan Bartow of 247Sports Tuesday morning. “They met my standards.”
Lewis, who attends Ocean Lakes High School in Virginia Beach, Virginia is listed as an athlete because he could project as a running back, wide receiver or a safety.
Lewis had many major choices, including offers from the Arizona State Sun Devils, Florida Gators, Tennessee Volunteers and the Florida State Seminoles, who signed Lewis’ former teammate, 4-star defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi, last week.
“They are a mind-blowing school,” Lewis said of UCLA.
The 6’3, 233-pound Lewis is considered the ninth best athlete prospect, the eighth best over prospect in the state of Virginia, which is loaded this year, and the 101st best overall prospect in the class of 2015.
He is UCLA’s third commitment, joining 4-star tight end Aliz’e Jones and 3-star cornerback Victor Alexander.
