Former Manchester United soccer star David Beckham is making the transition from player to owner with his new Major League Soccer club in Miami. Meanwhile, some of his United teammates are still playing with the club, like Ryan Giggs, or working within the organization as a coach, like first team coach Phil Neville and Nicky Butt coaching the under-21s.
While Beckham is having soccer related success in his own way, he is envious of those players.
From ESPN FC:
“It does a little bit,” Beckham replied on whether he felt envious of the players who have landed roles with United. “When my eldest son came up here to train for a week, I saw Butty training the U21s, Phil with the first team and Scholesy with Butty.
“It’s great to see they are still part of the club and training the young kids. There is nothing better than to have players like that, who you’ve seen being successful over the years, training the young kids. That’s what Manchester United do.”
I’m sure in some way they might be envious of Beckham’s success off the pitch with endorsements and now as an owner.
