The Minnesota Timberwolves aren’t expected to have a big trade deadline, though it’s possible a few small pieces could be on the move.
There is still intrigue around Alexey Shved, though the Wolves won’t get anything meaningful for him.
There’s not a lot of need for the Wolves to make a trade involving Svhed considering he is signed through the 2014-15 season at a respectable price. Add in that he won’t bring the T’Wolves a difference maker in a trade, Minnesota would be best served by retaining the 25-year-old.
That’s not to say he’s not tradeable – Minnesota would certainly entertain moving him in the correct offer, it’s just that the Timberwolves obtaining anything of significant value for Shved seems extremely unlikely.
Minnesota will be better served by trading players like J.J. Barea or Dante Cunningham.
