A Washington Redskins fan sent quarterback Robert Griffin III a wedding invitation, not really expecting a response.

“I just thought it would be pretty cool,” Curley said, via DC Sports Bog. “I thought there wasn’t that much of a chance that I’d get anything back, but I sent it anyways.”

But Griffin did respond, signing the invitation with some well wishes and even included an autographed football card.

“Shocked,” Curley said, when Dan Steinberg of DC Sports Bog asked for his reaction. “Just that somebody as big as RGIII would take the time, right away, to write something back — I thought that was really cool. Obviously I’ll be a Redskins fan all my life, but he will be my favorite player from now on, until the end of time.”

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen an NFL quarterback invited and politely turn down a wedding invitation. Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning responded to a wedding invitation by autographing it and adding a message. No card though.
