Sochi 2014: USA's Sarah Hendrickson will be first female ski jumper in Olympic history

On Tuesday morning, United States ski jumper Sarah Hendrickson learned that she would be making history at the 2014 Winter Olympics regardless of the result of her event. Hendrickson is competing in the first ever women’s ski jumping Olympic event and she drew luck number one on Tuesday which means she will be the first woman to ever jump in Winter Olympics history.

Instead of feeling pressure, Hendrickson is excited to go flying through the air and into the record books.

Hendrickson will compete at 12:30 p.m. ET.

Live coverage of the event will be available on NBC Olympics Live Extra.
