Sochi Olympics: Shaun White taking time off to tour with band

US Olympic snowboarder Shaun White withdrew from the slope-style event to focus on others. That course of action didn’t go as planned with White finishing in fourth place in the half-pipe event. White has decided the best course of action is to take some time off, and with that time he is going to go on tour with his band.

“I will go and see my family and reflect,” White said after the event, via Jeff Passan of Yahoo. “I’m planning to go out and play some music. I have got a tour to look forward to [with his band].”

It is important to note that it doesn’t sound like White is taking a break to tour with his band but already had it planned and scheduled. Meanwhile the United States failed to medal in the event for the first time in its brief history.

“We let America down,” U.S. teammate Danny Davis said. “Sorry, America.”
