Southern Illinois at Wichita State final score: Shockers remain unbeaten at 26-0 with 78-67 win over Salukis

The Wichita State Shockers made a little bit of history on Tuesday night as they not only remained unbeaten, but they became the first team in six years to start a season 26-0 as they defeated the Southern Illinois Salukis, 78-67.

Wichita State had about as close of a scare in this one as they’ve had all season of seeing their undefeated hopes go out the window, as the game was tied with about 15 minutes to go in the second half, but the fourth-ranked Shockers pulled away in the end to make sure that wasn’t the case.

Ron Baker led the way in this one for Wichita State, dropping in 19 points and adding in five assists with two rebounds and two steals. With two blocks added in, he was the overall most complete player in this victory.

With just five games left on their regular season schedule, that unbeaten season is well within their reach.
