Tuesday features another full day of Streak or the Cash options which should give us all a chance to build a streak as we near the half-way point of the abbreviated month of February.  Today gets underway with three picks from the Olympics before some nice soccer picks this afternoon from European league action.  Tonight, there’s a heaping of helping of hoops from both the NBA and college basketball.

Each morning, you can find my picks for the day here on Fansided with a quick rundown of each game as well as my confidence in my pick on a scale of 1-10. You are also welcome to join the discussion in our community as part of our Fansided group which is open to the public and free to join by clicking here of by searching for “Fansided” in the Group Directory page on ESPN.  Here are my picks for this Tuesday and my results so far this month:

 2/11 Streak Picks

8:30- Any Other Country: There are several races as part of a fairly lengthy qualifying process in this Cross-Country Skiing event.  As always in these events, Norway and Sweden are strong, but Russia has three very good options here and there’s a Swiss skier as well in the top five. In the top four favorites, only one is Norway/Sweden the overall favorite, Petter Northug. In the top 12, there are six from Norway/Sweden and six from other countries. My pick would be one of the Russians, but there are so many variables in a shorter race like this that can make it unpredictable. I’ll take the field in this, but it’s a very close prop. Confidence-3

12:30- Shaun White: The Flying Tomato goes for the gold in the halfpipe looking to win his third straight gold.  He’s a -250 favorite to pull it off, but he hasn’t been unbeatable this season and will get some serious competition from IPod (Iouri Podladtchikov) and his YOLO flip. White has been focused on this event, and at his best no one can beat him. I think he’ll rise to the occasion, so I’ll take him over the field. Confidence-4

12:30- Sara Takanashi: The Women’s Ski Jump returns after being re-instated to the Olympic program and Takanashi is the prohibitive favorite to take home the gold.  She’s a 19-time World Champion and her toughest competition, American Sara Hendrickson is battling injury and probably won’t be at her best. She’s only a -162 favorite because she doesn’t have the name reconition of Shaun White, but I think she’s a slightly stronger pick. Confidence-5

2:45- Borussia Dortmund Win: In this German Cup quarterfinal game, Dortmund go on the road to take on Eintracht Frankfurt. Dortmund is 12-3-5 so far in the Bundesliga while Frankfurt is just 5-6-9.  In their league meeting Dortmund won 2-1 in Frankfurt. However, they are dealing with a slew of injuries and may be content with a road draw, so it’s not a lock. Confidence-4

3:00- Chelsea wins by 2+ Goals: Chelsea has been in top form while West Brom has been struggling along trying to avoid relegation. West Brom has lost three of their last five including a 3-1 loss at Crystal palace last Saturday.  Chelsea, on the other hand, has been rolling along going 8-2-0 since their last EPL loss with multi-goal wins over Newcastle, Manchester United, Hull, and Southampton in their last six league matches. While giving goals especially on the road is sotmehing I tru to avoid, I think the Blues are in good enough form to get the two-goal win here. Confidence-5

3:00- Chelsea leads 1-0 or 2-0: While I think those are the two most likely scores, there are obviously lots of other possibilities making this an iffy prop but one worth taking if you’re on a short streak or in the red. Confidence-3 1/2

3:00- Real Madrid Win: Real Madrid expects to get Cristiano Ronaldo back on the pitch as they look to advance in the Spanish Cup.  They routed Atletico 3-0 in the first leg, so they can afford to lose even by 2 and still advance. I still wouldn’t count on them to let up though, since this is their rival. Confidence-3

3:00- Udinese: Udinese is also ahead going into their second leg on the road with a 2-1 advantage coming in against Fiorentina. Coming in a goal up, I think they’re likely to advance although Fiorentia has been good at home. Confidence-4

4:03- Any Other Number: Just playing the odds on this prop since it’s more likely that 0, 2, or more goals are scored than one. One is the most likely single number, but against the field I’ll go with any other. Confidence-3

Jan 25, 2014; Gainesville, FL, USA; Florida Gators guard Kacey Hill (0) shoots the ball during the game against the Tennessee Volunteers at the Stephen C. O

7:02- Florida Gators: Florida is rolling along but are only favored by 1 1/2 as they travel to Rocky Top to take on the Vols.  When the two teams met in Florida, the Gators chomped Tennessee 67-41. The Vols are much better at home, but Florida should still be able to get their 16th win in a row. Confidence-6

7:03- 11 Points or Fewer: Florida and Tennessee are both fairly balanced scoring teams. The leading scorer from Tennessee is Scotter McRae who averages 19.3 while Casey Prather leads the Gators with 15.6 per game. Since this is just for a half, it’s most likely that the leading scorer will be under 11. Confidence-4

7:04- Seton Hall Pirates:  Marquette is excellent at home but will be on the road as they take on the Pirates tonight. Seton Hall has alternated wins and losses over their last seven while Marquette has done the exact same thing in their last 12.  If the alternation pattern continues, the Hall wins, Marquette loses, but that’s not necessarily something you want to count on. When the teams met before in Milwaukee, Marquette won but just by a point, so look for Seton Hall to avenge that loss tonight. Confidence-5

7:04- Texas Longhorns: The ‘Horns face the struggling Oklahoma State Cowboys who have fallen out of the rankings but are still a dangerous team.  OSU will be without star Marcus Smart as he starts his suspension which makes Texas a pretty solid pick at home where they’re favored by four. In their last three home games, Texas has beaten then-#8 Iowa State, then-#22 Kansas State, and then-#6 Kansas. Confidence-6 1/2

7:05- Cleveland Cavaliers: The Cavs have won their last two games and are one-point favorites at home as they host the Kings.  Sacramento has dropped 11 of their last 14 including their last six on the road. Confidence-4

7:05- Dallas Mavericks: The Mavs are favored by three on the road against Charlotte as they look to get their sixth straight win in the series. Dallas’s defense has been good lately and will make it tough for the Bobcats who struggle shooting and have dropped two of their last three. Confidence-3 1/2

8:05- Chicago Bulls: The Bulls host the Hawks at the United Center and come in as two-point favorites in this one.  Atlanta is 9-15 on the road this season, and they have dropped their last three games while Chicago has taken two of their last three even though they were tough road games.  This will be their first home game since January 27, and they’ll be ready to play in Chicago where they are 13-10 and beat Atlanta earlier this season. Confidence-4 1/2

Feb 5, 2014; Los Angeles, CA, USA; Miami Heat guard Dwayne Wade (3) and forward LeBron James (6) in the fourth quarter against the Los Angeles Clippers at Staples Center. The Heat defeated the Clippers 116-112. Mandatory Credit: Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

9:05- Miami Heat: Miami lost to Utah in their last game in an uncharacteristically ugly performance especially from LeBron James. Tonight, they’re four point favorites in Phoenix and after James well-publicized practice session yesterday they should be focused and ready to take on the Suns. Phoenix is 17-8 at home and playing well, but if they Heat are on only a few teams in the league can touch them. Confidence-6

9:05- Alabama Crimson Tide: The Ole Miss Rebels have the better record, but at home the Tide are 3 1/2 point favorites.  ‘Bama has dropped their last four, but is 4-2 in their last six at home with one loss coming in a close game against the Gators.  Ole Miss has lost their last two road games, so I think Alabama will get the win even though it wouldn’t be an upset if you look at the line. Confidence-3 1/2

9:05- Ohio State Buckeyes: The Buckeyes are 3 1/2 point favorites at home against their rival Michigan Wolverines. OSU had dropped five of six but has turned the corner and won their last three with a pair of road wins over ranked Wisconsin and Iowa.  Michigan has lost two of its last three both losses coming on the road at Indiana and Iowa. Big 10 Conference games are always tough, but I’ll go with the Buckeyes in Columbus. Confidence-5

9:06- Ohio State more Points 1st Half: Since I think they’ll win the game, I think they’ll take the prop. Confidence-3

9:12- Xavier Muskateers: This game’s a pick ‘em line at this point as Xavier travels to Butler. Xavier is 6-4 in the Big East while Butler is just 2-9 in conference play.  The Bulldogs lost earlier this season to Xavier at Xavier by 11, and have dropped four of their last five.  Butler has the name recognition, but they’ve struggled this season, so I think the X-men are the way to go here. Confidence-6

10:05- Oklahoma City Thunder: The Thunder are underdogs by a points and a half as they travel to the Moda Center where Portland is 19-5 on the season.  The Blazers have taken two of three from OKC this season, but they’ve stumbled a bit lately splitting their four-game road trip.  OKC has been rolling right along going 9-2 in their last 11, so I’ll take them to keep momentum going in this great Western Conference Clash. Confidence Meter-4

10:07- 67 or Fewer: These Big 10 games tend to be defensive and low-scoring, so I’d lead towards the under but the gameflow in the first half could go a long way to determining the strength of this pick. Confidence-3

10:35- Utah Jazz: The Jazz just beat the Heat. Read that last sentence again and couple it with the fact that the Lakers have lost five home games in a row and are just 8-14 at the Staples Center this season.  Think of this game as the opposite of the Thunder-Blazers game. It should be competetive, but only because both teams are at the bottom of the Conference not the top like the game in Portland. Confidence-4 (watchability-barely 1)
