The Tennessee Volunteers were one of the biggest surprises on the recruiting trail in the first year under Butch Jones as the Vols finished with the nation’s No. 7 class for the 2014 cycle despite a losing record and Jones and Tennessee have their sights even higher in 2015 and five-star Tim Settle could be this year’s lynchpin.

Settle (Manassas, Va. Stonewall Jackson) is visiting Tennessee this weekend for the school’s junior day. Tennessee assistants have been frequent visitors to Virginia to see Settle at his high school after they first offered him nearly seven months ago, so this trip will be about learning about the program and to see the facilities and develop his relationships with the coaching staff.

Settle has previously taken unofficial visits to Clemson, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Michigan, Ohio State and Alabama. He has more than 25 offers from the aforementioned programs as well as elite programs like Florida State, Notre Dame Florida and Oklahoma.

The 6-3.5, 305-pound defensive tackle is ranked as the nation’s No. 13 overall prospect and No. 4 defensive tackle in the 247Sports Composite Rankings for the 2015 class.
