National signing day wasn’t even a week away yet, but some of the top 2015 recruits are already proceeding rapidly with their recruitment, including four-star offensive tackle Chuma Edoga (Powder Springs, Ga. McEachern) who named the Tennessee Volunteers his leader today according to 247Sports.
The 6-4, 280-pound tackle is the nation’s No. 64 recruit overall according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, the No. 5 tackle and the No. 7 recruit in the state of Georgia.
While the Vols hold the early lead for Edoga who hopes to commit to a school prior to his senior season admits the Georgia Bulldogs and USC Trojans are not too far behind. He will visit Georgia this weekend before taking trips to Tennessee and USC in March.
The Vols assembled one of the most impressive classes in the 2014 cycle when they signed 33 recruits and finished with the nation’s No. 7 class in the nation despite a losing record.
Adding a player the caliber of Edoga would give Butch Jones and his staff momentum heading into the season and add to the 2015 class that already ranks No. 3 in the country with seven commits, including three, four-star recruits.
