Rashad Vaughn (Minneapolis, Minn. Findlay Prep) committed to the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels Tuesday evening over Iowa State, North Carolina, Kansas and Kentucky. Iowa State was the runner-up for the 6-5, 203-pound guard.

Vaughn is the nation’s No. 12 player in the 247Sports Composite Rankings and the No. 3 shooting guard. Moving from Minneapolis to Nevada to attend Findlay Prep meant Vaughn was able to be see games and practices on a fairly regular basis and develop relationships with the UNLV coaching staff, especially head coach Dave Rice.

The McDonald’s All-American should make an immediate impact next year as a freshman because of his ability to be score from the perimeter where the Rebs will need help.

The addition of Vaughn moves UNLV up to the No. 5 class in the 247Sports rankings, joining five-star forward Dwayne Morgan and top-25 prospect, center Goodluck Okonoboh. Each of these three rank in the top five at their respective positions.
