Forward Gonzalo Higauin is pledging his future to his current club, Napoli. He has been a reported transfer target of other clubs like Chelsea in the winter window, but he is committed to the Serie A side.
“My future is at Napoli,” Higuain said to Gazzetta dello Sport, via Fox Soccer. “I have a contract with Napoli for another four years and I am treated like a king here.
“This is an important time for me and for my career. I’ve been playing at the highest level for eight years and I feel physically well and there’s a great atmosphere in Naples.”
Napoli is playing well which has to make staying there more appealing. They’re in third place in the table, which qualifies them for the Champions League as long as they can finish in that spot or higher. They’re also still alive in the Europa League and Coppa Italia tournaments.
“We hope we can win a title this season,” Higuain said. “We believe it is possible. There are three titles up for grabs and although we know it will be very difficult, we are very determined to surprise everyone.”
