Johnny Manziel in slam dunk contest with Mike Evans (Video)

It’s no secret that former Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel likes to play basketball.

It’s also no secret that he’s a lot more talented at football than he is basketball.

We’ve seen the soon to be NFL quarterback on the hardwood a few times and needless to say, the results haven’t exactly been impressive. But Manziel redeemed himself recently as he took part in a ‘dunk contest’ (which looked more like he and Mike Evans dunking with a few friends around) and ended up throwing down a pretty two-hand slam.

Now keep in mind – Manziel is not the tallest guy in the world, so actually getting up on an NBA level hoop? That’s pretty impressive from an athletic standpoint.

No, the dunk wasn’t anything fantastic and yes, he almost didn’t make it (he just cleared the rim). But at 6’1 and in flip flops (so says TMZ)? Manziel gets thumbs up from me.

It didn’t help that Manziel was up against former Texas A&M teammate Mike Evans, who is a good 6’5 on his worst day and is clearly the superior dunker of the two.
