On Tuesday, rumors leaked suggesting multiple teams were interested in trading for Boston Celtics power forward Brandon Bass.
The list of teams (Golden State Warriors, Phoenix Suns, Charlotte Bobcats) did not include the Oklahoma City Thunder, however, according to an NBA GM – the Thunder have interest in obtaining the veteran.
Fox Sports’ Sam Amico dropped the nugget of news during a recent chat.
All I’ve heard on Bass is yes … and the Warriors. Although one GM said he’s heard the Thunder, too, which I found interesting.
Bass is due $6.4 million this season and $6.9 million next season, so finding a deal between the two clubs will be difficult.
Kendrick Perkins would conceivably fit from a financial standpoint, but I can’t imagine the Celtics are interested in a reunion. Thabo Sefolosha is an expiring contract worth $4 million dollars, something the Celtics would like, but I don’t see the Thunder trading him.
It seems as if a deal between the two clubs would need the assistance of a third team as the money doesn’t seem to match-up well.
