NBA Trade Rumors: Orlando Magic willing to 'give away' Jameer Nelson, Glen Davis

In need of a point guard or undersized power forward? Boy, do the Orlando Magic have a deal for you.

It’s no secret the young, re-building Magic are attempting to rid themselves of non-needed contracts and veteran talent. So the fact that Jameer Nelson and Glen Davis are on the block shouldn’t be surprising. However, according to ESPN’s Chad Ford, Orlando is simply willing to give Nelson and Davis away if anybody calls.

I’d be mildly surprised if all three were still there. Afflalo has the most trade value, but the team is also quite fond of him. They’ll need a strong offer to trade him. Nelson and Davis they’d give away.

Ford’s suggestion that he would be mildly surprised ‘all three’ were still there includes Arron Afflalo, who is also reportedly available – though the Magic are looking for a solid return for the swingman.

As for Nelson and Davis, the Magic understandably don’t want any long term deals in return so as long as a team is willing to absorb their contracts, it appears the Magic are more than happy to gift wrap them for their new team.

Nelson and Davis are in the way of the Magic playing their young players together. They slow down the tempo, when everybody else wants to go up tempo. They could help a half court team in contention, but they are only hurting this Magic team.
