It is time again for the annual purge to commence. Earlier today, the good people at Universal Pictures have given us our very first look at what we can expect when the follow-up to last year’s The Purge entitled The Purge: Anarchy hits theaters.
This time, the terror is going to be taken to a whole new level. They are doing something a little different with this one than they did in the original Purge film. Last time, the Sandin family had the safety and security of a well-armed and well protected house to prevent them from falling prey to the insanity of the Government-imposed annual purge.
While the security of their home may not have prevented the mayhem from coming inside, it is sure a lot better than being on your own out in the open.
Unfortunately for a young couple, this is just the dilemma that they are faced with. On their way home on the night of the annual purge, a young couple has their car stall out right in the middle of the abandoned road. As the two of them sat in their car trying to figure out what their next move is, the sun is setting behind them. Before they can figure out a plan, the announcement comes over the radio that the purge has begun and that for twelve hours they will be at the mercy of those on the streets.
I think it is safe to say that this is not going to end well for this young couple.
Here is a look at the first teaser trailer for the upcoming film The Purge: Anarchy.
The film stars Frank Grillo, who also plays Crossbones in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Michael K. Williams, Zach Gilford, and The Glades’ Kiele Sanchez.
The Purge: Anarchy is scheduled to be released on June 20, 2014.
