Sochi Olympics Women's Hockey: Canada takes lead on a controversial goal (Video)

The United States’ Women’s hockey team was dominating in the Sochi Olympics so far. They had beaten Sweden 9-0 earlier in the games. Against Canada they faced tougher competition and lost 3-2, but the game might have had a different result if it weren’t for a controversial goal.

The Canadians shot the puck and it looked like the goalie had clamped down on it freezing the puck. The referee even blew the whistle stopping play assuming that is what had happened.

Then the puck trickled out and went into the goal after the whistle had blown. That goal gave Canada a 2-1 lead.
