David Beckham considering Miami Vice as name for new MLS franchise

Soccer star David Beckham was awarded an MLS franchise that he will be bringing to Miami, Florida, but there has not been a named attached to the pending expansion team. That could all be changing soon, however, with news that Beckham is considering three names for the team.

Among those names being considered is “Miami Vice,” which will surely be met with mixed reaction.

Another name in the mix is the “Miami Current” and the Palm Beach Post reports a third “undisclosed name tied to a corporate sponsor.”

The Palm Beach Post has more details:

One of the logos used in the Beckham group’s presentations, for a team called “Miami Vice,” includes dark gray and aqua colors, with soft pink accents. The letters ‘M’ and ‘V’ form a badge, with an upward-struck soccer ball in the foreground. The kit features an aqua shirt and dark gray shorts with soft pink stripes.

The logo and uniforms were designed for the presentation only and are not likely the final version. The colors, however, are expected to be the same.

More details are expected to be announced in the coming months.
