Carlos Boozer is currently battling injury, but he’s not going to lose his job because of it. Despite the brilliant play of Taj Gibson, who is running up his price tag thanks to meeting incentives in his contract, the Bulls plan on giving Boozer the starting job back whenever he returns.

Head coach Tom Thibodeau spoke about the matter on Wednesday night, stating that it’s Boozer’s job and he’ll step back into it when he’s healthy.

Per K.C. Johnson from the Chicago Tribune:

"“Yeah,” Thibodeau said Wednesday when asked if Boozer will remain the starter. “I have to know what the minutes restrictions are. But for us to achieve what we want to achieve, we need Carlos.”"

Gibson’s bonuses are starting to add up and the team may start eating away at the cap space they’ve earned because of it. That’s not the reason Boozer is getting his job back, but this is an easy one for the conspiracy theorists out there. Boozer has been a little vocal recently about his minutes and how he wants more clutch fourth quarter time.

He may not be getting that, but he’s getting his job back which is more than he can ask for at the moment, especially when his successor is having a career year.
