Even as early as this morning, there were questions looming about Dwyane Wade‘s availability for the 2014 NBA All-Star game.

The Miami Heat guard suffered a drop foot injury recently and given his other nagging issues, there were mounting concerns he would not be able to play. Even if he could, it was questionable if he’d attempt to rather than stay off his feet for while. But according to Yahoo Sports, Wade will be available and will play in the game.

Heat All-Star guard Dwyane Wade said he will play in Sunday’s NBA All-Star Game. Wade suffered a drop foot injury on Wednesday.

D-Wade was voted in as a starter by the fans, thus his inclusion will prevent the coaching staff from naming a replacement in the starting lineup and will keep commissioner Adam Silver from naming a replacement.

Many felt that if Wade was unable to play, either Toronto Raptors guard Kyle Lowry or Orlando Magic swingman Arron Afflalo would be the beneficiary of Wade’s injury.

Both Lowry and Afflalo will miss being named as an injury replacement though with Wade opting to play through the pain.
