The Boston Red Sox are getting ready to defend their World Series crown this year and need everyone in their starting rotation healthy if they want to be successful. Last year they lost Clay Buchholz for a period of time and decided to pull the trigger on a trade that would allow them to acquire veteran pitcher Jake Peavy.

Peavy finished the 2013 campaign with an ERA of 4.17, 1.15 WHIP and 121 strikeouts over 144 2/3 innings between the Chicago White Sox and Boston Red Sox. The guy pretty much changed color of his Sox, get it? Of course you do!

Anyways, today the Red Sox received a little bit of a scare after the veteran right handed pitcher left their Spring Training complex with bandages around his right wrist and ring finger. That’s according to Pete Abraham on Twitter, who always reports that Peavy says it’s nothing.

This should still be something the organization and it’s fans should be concerned about.
