On Friday morning, the Ted Wells report finally was released after investigating the incident that led offensive lineman Jonathan Martin to leave the Miami Dolphins.
The report found that Martin, along with another unnamed Dolphins lineman and assistant trainer, were subject to harassment from three of the team’s starters — Richie Incognito, Mike Pouncey and John Jerry — including racial and homophobic slurs and “improper physical touching.”
After the release of the report, the Dolphins issued a statement.
“We have just received the report from Ted Wells and will review it in detail before responding relative to the findings,” the Dolphins statement read. “When we asked the NFL to conduct this independent review, we felt it was important to take a step back and thoroughly research these serious allegations. As an organization, we are committed to a culture of team-first accountability and respect for one another.“
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell also said that he will be reviewing the full report before making any further comment on the situation.
