Could the Portland Trail Blazers and Marcus Camby be fit for a reunion? It’s an intriguing possibility and one that Moke Hamilton of Basketball Insiders brings up.
The Blazers have not hidden their desire to bring in another big body with rumors recently linking them to Philadelphia 76ers center Spencer Hawes. But with Hawes being nothing more than a somewhat expensive rental, it’s possible Portland may look elsewhere – possibly the free agent pool where Camby sits.
The former UMass product is near the end of his NBA career but has suggested he’d like to return to a contender in need of a big man.
Enter the Blazers.
Another name to keep an eye on is Marcus Camby. Camby recently said he hopes to latch on with a contender, and he spent time in Portland before.
Camby was released by the Houston Rockets earlier this season – mostly due to injury (and potentially a lack of need/playing time). Now on the road to recovery and feeling realtively healthy, expect to see him back in the league at some point this season – be it with the Blazers or somebody else.
