The Orlando Magic have been looking to secure a high lottery pick this year and aren’t interested in winning their way out of a top pick. That being said, the team isn’t going to cash in their veteran trade chips just to do so, and may end up keeping some guys through the deadline.

One such guy is Jameer Nelson, who will more than likely be kept beyond the deadline this season. According to NBA scribe Jared Zwerling

If anything were to go down in the next week or so, Nelson likely won’t be one of those guys who wakes up in the morning and is surprised to see his name on the television’s bottom ticker, saying he’s been moved. That’s because Nelson and the Magic have had “good communication since day one,”

There’s still a chance he could be moved, but it’s starting to look more and more like Nelson won’t be a player moved when the deadline comes and goes this year.
